The recorder uses DPCM (Differential Pulse Code Modulation) compression to convert the 12 bit samples of ADC and IDAC into 6 bits at an effective sampling ratio of 8kHz. This compression can extend the recording time without losing sound quality. Additional ADC functions such as burst mode and repetition timing are utilized to improve sample sound quality during the recording process. The pause operation mode of C8051F411 can also reduce the power consumption of the recorder when it is idle.
